In its snapshot of Christ's ministry in Galilee, John 6 offers a challenge to our understanding of the Gospel. There is no moralism, but there is no cheap grace, either. Instead Jesus speaks of belief hand-in-hand with being called and chosen--and also with eating and drinking his body and blood. 'For the Life of the World' offers six sermons on John 6 in the hope of illuminating how the ministry of Word and sacrament established by Christ is God's way of propagating his plan for the life of the world.
