As a church, Grace wants to create a joyous and safe environment to come and worship the Lord together. Whether you join us in the sanctuary or via livestream, we look forward to worshiping with you. Most importantly, we want to encourage everyone both to do their best in practicing these precautions and to extend grace to one another at the same time.
Phase II Guidelines
Our services during the second phase of re-gathering we continue to follow recommendations from medical experts, and best practices from other churches. Of course, it is impossible to eliminate every risk—and we realize that different people have different views of the risk involved and how to approach it. As a body, we are adopting these measures as a form of good stewardship and consideration for one another, even though it involves some sacrifice.
We also know that worshiping with these measures in place will not be what we’re used to. While we are grateful for the opportunity to worship together in person once again, a part of us will still long for things to be as they were (and ought to be). Be assured that we all feel this, and are sacrificing together. As time progresses, our approach will develop. Lord willing, our worship will be fuller and fuller. In the meantime, regardless of circumstances, let it be joyful!
For Those With Symptoms, or High Risk
If you are sick, have a fever, or have been in contact with anyone who is sick, please stay home and join us via our livestream.
Individuals with higher risk are also encouraged to stay home at this time and join us via our livestream. We are concerned for your well-being. Please, do not feel any pressure to attend services in person until you are ready.
For Those Attending Services
The church common surfaces like door handles, table tops and chairs will be wiped with disinfecting wipes prior to our worship service.
Hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes will be available in the foyer, prior to entering the sanctuary.
You’re welcome to bring your own hand sanitizer.
Please avoid personal contact (handshakes, hugs, etc...) with those outside of your household group and maintain a 6-foot distance between others. We know it’s not easy, but please do your best to observe this precaution.
Before Entering
Prior to entering the building, feel free to fellowship with others outside the building (while observing social distance).
When you enter the building, please proceed directly to the sanctuary to be seated. Do not gather in the foyer.
Masks (in our sanctuary)
If you have your own mask, please wear it at all times in the Sanctuary (masks are required for anyone 10 years or older). Disposable masks will be available in the foyer.
Masks are encouraged particularly on entry and exit, because maintaining 6 feet of distance isn’t always possible.
During the service, we especially encourage the use of masks during singing, due to concerns that singing has a greater potential for spread.
Masks (large classroom)
You have the option of not wearing a mask during the service while in the Large Classroom overflow space.
Please enter/exit the Large Classroom through the Small Classroom door near the Welcome Table.
Entering the Sanctuary
The rows in our sanctuary have been spread out so they are 6 feet apart. As you enter the sanctuary, please sit with your household group.
If you’re on the same row as someone from another household, please leave 3 chairs between you.
Your Order of Worship will be placed in the seats prior to your arrival.
The basket for tithes and offerings is still located near the back of the sanctuary.
No coffee, water, or snacks will be served, you are welcome to bring your own.
After the Service
When the service concludes, we will dismiss by rows, starting at the back.
Please exit directly outside and do not linger in the foyer.
Everyone is welcome to fellowship outside in the open air, so as you depart please feel free to gather there. Our goal is simply to avoid crowding in the tight entry spaces, and to fellowship where there’s more room to move.
For Kids & Parents
We know it will be challenging to return to a familiar place with new rules, so we ask you to prepare your kids ahead of time and talk to them about things like: (a) stay with your family, (b) avoid close contact with other children and adults.
Youth Chronicles will be available but please bring your own writing utensils.
For children who are used to grabbing one of our busy bags in the back, please bring your own paper and crayons. These will return in one of our later phases.
During this phase, no Sunday school classes or Teach Me To Worship classes will be held, so everyone can stay together.
Although the nursery will not be staffed, the toys and books have been pared down to a minimum and the room will be open for use as a cry room. Parents are welcome to use it as needed. Wipes/disinfecting spray will be available and we ask that you sanitize anything you’ve used.
